Saturday, April 12, 2014 Bangkok (Part One) ✈

Quite an impromptu decision to visit Bangkok last month with Wx as it was his school holidays and I needed a break from work too. This trip, we actually went for 6D5N which might be a little too much for Bangkok but we didn't want to rush throughout the entire trip! So, we flew off early in the morning...

Checked in to Budacco (Yes! Early check in was available) and was greeted with this:

After everything was settled, we quickly made our way to Isao for lunch!

Tuna Sushi

Boyfriend's set meal

My set meal with Unagi

When my dish was served, we took a bite each of the Unagi and we actually looked at each other and froze for a few seconds because it was so good! Their Unagi actually melts in your mouth (best eaten when it's warm). Both of us agreed that it was still nice even when it turned cold!

Would like to also point out that their plain rice was fragrant and soft, bliss.

California Maki

Meet Jackie

This is one of Isao's signature dish and we absolutely love it!

The whole time, we kept nodding while eating because the food served wasn't a letdown! It is 100% certain that we will be back for Isao when we visit Bangkok again the next time.

Recommended to make your reservations early as I only called for reservations when we reached Bangkok but it was fully booked already so we went for walk in. Waiting time was pretty quick for us anyway!

Returned back to the hotel to rest for a while before heading out for dinner as the boy was too tired!

Ended our first night at Siam's night market and me being adventurous - settled for dinner at a roadside stall but Wx was kind of reluctant at first... After much assurance, he finally agreed and the whole ambiance was just authentic. Think, pad Pad Thai, Egg & Rice, Tom Yum Goong and a bottle of coke for only SGD$6+ in total :)
