Tuesday, June 17, 2014 Half A Decade + How We Met?

It has been five years and I'm still very much in love with you.

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Motivational Tuesday

1. You wake up with the sun
One of the best things ever is to actually see the day begin. Watch as the sun gradually rises over buildings, bridges, bodies of water, and just soak it in. It gives you a sense of connection to this world with live in, and an appreciation for the little things we may overlook from time to time.

2. The world is quieter and more peaceful
It’s a crazy-busy-always-on-the-go type of place here, and the hustle and bustle is right around the corner. But, before all of that, there’s a silence in the city that only happens while many others are still asleep in bed. It’s a different world – a different experience – and it’s worth spending a few minutes of your time to acknowledge it. You’ll discover something new about your city that not everyone does.

3. Coffee in the morning is comforting
From someone who can literally drink coffee all day, every day – I need you to understand that the morning coffee when you’re relaxed, and stress-free, and spending some private moments wandering the limits of your mind and seeing the sun rise is truly as good as it gets. There’s no rush to put in your order; there’s no hassle to transport it out into the world; there’s no rush to get caffeine induced into your mind – it’s just that perfectly poured cup of coffee in your hands to hug and drink at your leisure.

4. There are more seats on the train
This is a no-brainer really. It’s before rush hour, so there are less people commuting. Instead of feeling packed like anchovies on the subway, why not catch an earlier train and sit your bottom down for a few minutes of relaxation before the day really starts? I’ve done it – it’s special.

5. You can focus a bit easier, before the day’s crazy starts
There’s a sense of clarity in these morning moments. You can think about things that you want and care to think about; you can focus easier, and without distraction. There’s nothing in the way of your brainwaves…and there’s something beautifully motivating about that.

6. The day appears to have more hours for you to be productive
There are only twenty-four hours in a day, we know this. It’s science. However (and this part, I can’t explain to you), when you wake up earlier, the day feels longer – you sense that you have more time. You can spend that time in the morning doing what you want, however you want, and free up time later for whatever it is that’s extremely-pressing-but-you’re-totally-swamped.

7. Once you get to work, your brain is already turned on
For me, there’s nothing worse than walking to work feeling like you’re entering a warzone. Getting whiplash from work emails/requests/clients/colleagues is painful. Truly. Okay, so you can’t always control this. BUT! If you can get your brain started a bit earlier, you’re mentally ready to take on what the day brings. It seems less like an attack, and more manageable when you’ve had time to gradually stimulate your mind.

8. You can kick-start your metabolism with a great workout
Endorphins, man. They really are amazing. It’s been said that a morning workout has excellent benefits for your overall health. Typically, by getting your heart rate up and a good sweat in, you wake up your metabolism, too, and burn more calories throughout the day. Again, science.

9. Two words: double breakfast
Does this need an explanation? Probably not. But I’ll walk you through it anyway. Breakfast food is GREAT. Eggs? Oatmeal? Yogurt and granola? Cereal? Fruit? Bagels? One of each, thank you very much. I could eat it for every meal. And, because you’re now a morning person who kick-starts their metabolism, fueling and refueling is required. Pick your breakfast twice, my friend, because this is now heaven.

10. You can approach the day with a positive, can do attitude
We’re all a little bit crabby when we first wake up – sleeping is wonderful, I completely get that. However, that doesn’t change regardless of what time you wake yourself up. I’ve found that my days start off on the right foot when I’ve had time to prepare for the day ahead. Stress happens, yes, but if I can make sure I’m ready to rock and roll before diving head-first into the day…I’m more optimistic on the day’s events. If you can get yourself up and running earlier than usual, it’s sort of like stretching – you ease into it all. And you’d be surprised how well-equipped you are to bob and weave.

11. You’re ready and willing to have a great night’s sleep
If you’ve taken full advantage of all the day has to offer, it’s a long one. Filled with overstimulation, excitement, discovery, and opportunity. And it’s exhausting (in a great way)! So, by the time you hit the pillow, you’ll most likely hit it hard – your brain won’t be spinning around a mile a minute with thoughts…it will be ready to rest. And you’ll sleep better, more soundly, and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.

This was exactly what I needed and thought I'll share it here for those who needs a little push! Just like me.

My body clock has been a little hay-wired lately and it's no fun at all! I can't seem to get my work done early (duh) and not sure if this is a good or bad habit but I like to finish my tasks set for the day no matter how late it is before going to bed. This has got to change. I need to start sleeping early and waking up early so I have more hours in the day to complete my work. Go me!

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 Hello 2014 (Wordy Post)

7 days into 2014 now and it isn't too late to think about our new goals for the new year. 2013 was generally a good and busy year for me and thank goodness for this little space a.k.a my blog, I'm able to read through all the posts starting from January 2013 to see what I've achieved and done.

Nothing fantastic happened in January so let's move on to February. Boyfriend brought me along to his Aunt's place for Chinese New Year visiting and of course, it's nice to meet his extended family members. Then, I visited Bangkok again for a half work / half holiday trip which I also found quite a few interesting cafes which I can't wait to bring my mom or my boyfriend along in the near future.

During March, the highlight was my Boyfriend's birthday and it was nothing short of happiness. Simple dinner with his close friends whom I invited along and like what I'd always say - The blessing of simplicity. Moving on to China trip as usual with my mom and her friends. We visit China every year and our trip there in 2013 was mainly to get furnitures for our new home. Broke down during end of March as it was quite a rough week for me thus, booked a hotel at Clover Hotel for a mini staycation. It was a good staycation as I was "free" from the troubles I had.

In April, participated in a flea market under Infinite Pixie and it was a good day though the flea organizer wasn't organized. I'm glad to meet some of my lovely customers! Oh! Boyfriend & I visited Sentosa because I was moving to my new home in May and my new home is located in the West so we took the chance to visit Sentosa before it becomes too far to visit. It was such a lovely day to have dinner by the sea, watched the sun set and followed by a romantic stroll on the beach.

Then it comes to May, the highlight of the year because I moved to my new place! I finally have my own bedroom, my own bathroom and my own workspace. I may also call it my home since I do pay the household funds monthly. It was also the start of the month which a lot of responsibilities were added to my shoulders as I shared the responsibilities with my mom.

In June, it was my mom's birthday and boyfriend & I hit our 4th year together. July & August was flooded with many birthday celebrations including mine. It was a really busy month and it also could be the month that can make my wallet really sad. Haha!

In September, I started my very own Chatterbox video. Basically, I'll film myself talking about anything about my life or the recent hauls for about 10 minutes or so. There are no specific dates on when I'll film as I only film whenever I'm free. Also held my very first giveaway in my blog which I received more responses that I expected. Thankful for that! Who wants a second giveaway? :) Went for Hardwell's tour, which was also my first outdoor party event I had participated.

During October, boyfriend left Singapore to Australia for 3 weeks for his army annual overseas trip. Thanks to work and friends, I was able to keep myself busy! Was kindly invited to Scarefest event and gotten tickets to visit USS Halloween. Both events were fun! In November, attended my boyfriend's ORD parade which is the day that we both were looking forward to ever since he got enlisted during 2011.

There came the last month of the year - December, boyfriend finally ORD and it's the best thing ever! We made it, we finally made it! Purchased and decorated my very own Christmas tree this year and also travelled to Kuala Lumpur with boyfriend for a short getaway which was really lovely.

--

Here's the full recap why I've stated 2013 was generally a good year for me and I sincerely hope it stays this way for 2014.

Unfortunately... I was down with stomach flu at the start of 2014. More or less recovered now which I'm really thankful for! I was actually quite worried that my sickness will cause inconvenience to my work since it's the start of the year = lots of work to clear from the holidays. But it recovered in time! Heh :')

It's quite hard for my grandparents and I to stay so far away from each other now when they took care of me really well for a total of 17 years+ ever since I was 3 years old. Which is why I'd always tell my mom, no matter how busy we are, how far we stay away from each other, we have to make time for them as time doesn't wait for anyone.

Rule No. 1: To have dinner with them at least once a week.
Which we have been doing so for 6 months+ and counting! By seeing them, having dinner with them. It makes me really happy.

Targeted a specific amount of savings I want to achieve at the end of this year. It's scary and exciting at the same time that I'm turning 21 this year. I have so many things to work towards for. Such as opening a CPF account for myself and doing it manually each month since I'm self employed. So much self disciplined needed!

My boyfriend (Wx) is going back to school to get himself a certificate so that he can secure a good job government job in the near future. As for me, I'll have to work hard too for my future. For our future. We talked about our future plans before and it's scary and exciting to be talking about it. Ahhhhhh!

For this, it's quite a challenge because I work from home and I usually don't have time to go out to meet new people. So I'll really be happy to communicate with my customers whenever they come for self collection / mass meet up. It's nice to talk to them and I've met a couple of nice ones in 2013! Hopefully, I get to meet more of such customers in the near future :)

Bring it on 2014, I'm ready for you!

Wednesday, September 25, 2013 10 Random Facts About Me

Hi everyone!

Today, I'll be blogging about:

1) My real name is Seraphina, (my dad gave me this name). However, didn't quite like my name since I was a little kid ... So, I'd always prefer people calling me Sera instead. Even till now. Well, it's much easier to pronounce anyway!

2) I HATE HATE HATE cockroaches and spiders. Well, actually most insects or weird little creatures freak me out. But these 2 are the ones that I'm afraid most. Eeks.

3) Almost turned lesbian when I was Primary 6. Nuff said - Plain embarrassing.

4) Continuing from fact #3 - Due to the fact that I was in a convent school for 6 years, I was afraid of boys (except for my male cousins). It took me so much courage and almost a week to be able to open up to my Secondary school male classmates. Haha.

5) Whenever I'm eating, I'll tend to daydream for at least once while I enjoy my food till someone interrupts me. This is super weird but I only recently found out this weird habit of mine when my boyfriend told me about this.

6) I've always wanted to rear a cat, even till now because I'm a cat lover. Never had a chance to as my family members are quite anal about cat's fur sooooo I'll rear my very own cat when I have my own apartment in the future *crosses fingers*

7) Favourite drink if you ask me? Will always be Pokka's Green Tea!

8) My favourite game of all times has got to be SIMS! I started playing when I was in primary school. So, I've played Sims > Sims 2 > Sims 3 (Currently)! It's a serious addiction. I remembered when I was in secondary school when I had a lot of free time, I'll play it for the whole day and night. With little breaks in between of course when I eat and use the toilet etc...

Now I can't wait to get my university expansion pack. A good timing to get it anytime now because bf will be away for 3 weeks, so when I'm bored - heh heh heh. Of course, I'll spend time with friends & family too! ;)

9) Not a morning person. It is so hard for me to switch my body clock around! Tried & Tested. Failed.

10) Was admitted to hospital when I was 5. Made my dad super angry because my mom, dad & I were on a holiday somewhere in Malaysia. The first night - we had dinner by the beach. I was such a mischievous kid! Kept shaking my plastic chair (as if it was a rocking chair), but lost balance and fell on the ground full of sand BUT, my left elbow hit onto something metal. The metal part actually went through my elbow *ouch* and my elbow was seriously fractured.

Took a speedboat & ambulance back to Singapore and dad was seriously mad at me because it was such a #fail holiday. Don't worry dad, i'll bring you out for a holiday soon!

✖ Will be blogging about Hardwell's concert next! ✖

Friday, August 23, 2013 Time

“Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time. It is not enough to just say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless. “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.” Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is “T-I-M-E.” — Rick Warren

Saturday, June 15, 2013 Domino's

Boyfriend loves pizza and as for me... not so of a pizza lover. But because of him (well, i guess it's due to love), we have pizzas almost every week. It's like whenever his craving strikes, he will never, ever say no. Of all pizzas, I love Domino's pizzas best! Personally, i find it even better than Sarpinos / Pizza Hut etc.. try them if you have the chance to :)

My favourite Meatzza in crunchy thin crust!

Boyfriend's favourite Hawaiian Pizza in cheese burst!

"A hungry man is an angry man"

While we still living in our old flat, delivery is always delivered by Killiney branch and their delivery service is really slow. The longest we've waited was 3-4 hours! It was crazy, we were starving and we had no idea how we managed to wait for that long. I mean, most people would have already cancelled their order but that just shows how much we love Domino's no matter how long they take.

& now we have moved to the new house! Delivery is now delivered by Choa Chu Kang branch - 'Keat Hong Shopping Centre' and they delivered within 30 minutes + the food that's delivered were still hot, not warm but hot!

Ready to have some pizzas from Domino's this weekend?
Order with them online at http://www.dominos.com.sg/!

Let me know your opinions on Domino's or any other restaurants that serve good quality pizzas (researching for my dearest boyfriend) over at my ASK.FM here: http://ask.fm/xseralo

Working on my preloved post now, bye!

*Not a sponsored post but my true opinions on Dominos*

Friday, June 14, 2013 One man's trash is another man's treasure

 Q U I C K   U P D A T E

Have been ill for the past few weeks and my heart sank when i heard,"Antibiotics won't work for you, you need to go to a hospital for a surgery" from the doctor. So i went down to Khoo Teck Puat hospital the next day recommended by the clinic and was it my luck that i have to meet such a cocky doctor? Never mind. The end results... considered myself lucky to skip away from the surgery and pick up some strong antibiotics after much consideration which i needed 3-5 days to see for any improvement and I'm glad that it made a tremendous improvement :)

*Phew*

Back to the title of this entry - One man's trash is another man's treasure

I've re-packed my entire wardrobe and decides to sell them online! Here are some sneaks of the items i'll be selling (Making full use of my mannequin now!) and the preloved post will most probably be up this weekend or early next week.

Tuesday, March 26, 2013 Staycation at Clover Hotel

Hello! Back to blog about the staycation and before i start. Photos taken are either with my iPhone 4 or Macbook Pro's photo booth! Hence, the poor image quality. I've dropped my phone twice this month and the camera is failing on me. So it means.... i'll bring my DSLR out more often!!

Boyfriend accompanied me to the post office to mail parcels before we check in! And we had a smooth check in experience at Clover Hotel. Receptionist made the process really fuss-free :)

Our room was Clover Plush - King by the way!

Love their open wardrobe concept!

Our room was a corner room and to be honest, i would have switch to some other rooms if i am overseas! But Clover Hotel is a new hotel so i don't mind!! :)

Check out our expansive toilet! It's really very spacious and thought they should at least place a bath tub there or something D:

Packaging which i love!

Boyfriend engrossed in watching MTV - Young & Married the first few minutes we entered and check his funny pose out! Hahaha.

Mint polka dots nails!

Shortly after checking in, we out to shop, eat, catch a movie! After a horrible week i had last week, the weekend made up for it. Partly, was because boyfriend was there with me. Spending the weekends together! We were so happy, we decided to have Pizza Hut for dinner! This boy, sucha pizza lover! <3

And we caught The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia! Hehe. Quite a good movie in my opinion! At least, there's a story behind it. And i actually teared at some scenes cause it was too touching :')

Headed back to the hotel to just chill!

What i prepared for lé boy!

& then, i went to bed and rest then suddenly.
That boy ran and snuggled me and ask...

Bf: Why you so cute ah? Why everything must be pink? Including toothpaste??
Me: Cause i like what!
Bf: *pinches my nose*

HEHEHE.

After being so happy throughout the day and night and when he tucked me to bed. About to close my eyes. I just couldn't take it any longer and pour everything out. Broke down and started crying. This boy, immediately hugged me even tighter and listened to what i have to say. After minutes of ranting, he wiped my tears and started talking about his life, what he faced, and encouraged me. Not to lose faith. Things are not in my favor these days and it's really tiring at some point. No one cared or even asked me if there's anything wrong when i was upset. But you did. Never in my life, did i wanted him so badly to be by my side. But am glad that he initiated to take off on Monday to accompany me but well, he couldn't due to army. But at least, he will be booking out on Wednesday to accompany me all the way till Sunday which i really look forward to! Thank you for being there when i needed you to. I love you, Bambi.

So that marks the end of our staycation! Very simple yet so blissful.
:)
